Recycling's Chris Newton followed his gold medal of last week with a silver medal at the weekend in the points race at the Beijing World Track Cup as Britain's track stars continue to prepare for next year's Olympic Games. Chris won the first sprint and then went on to gain 2 laps on the main field and scored 54 points just 6 points behind winner Juan Llaneras of Spain. [More]
Chris Newton Wins Gold in Team Pursuit at Sydney World Track Cup

Recycling's Chris Newton won a gold medal in the team pursuit at the latest round of the UCI Track World Cup in Sydney Australia. Riding with Great Britain teammates Ed Clancy, Bradley Wiggins and Steve Cummings, the quartet recorded a time of 4 minutes and 1 second to beat New Zealand in the final by 4 seconds. Recycling's Chris Newton won the 15km Scratch Race on Saturday evening at the Revolution 17 track meeting at the Manchester Velodrome. Chris escaped with 3 other riders, lapping the field and taking victory ahead of David O'Loughlin (Pezula Racing), Mike Friedman (USA) and ProTour rider Magnus Backstedt (Liquigas). The National Track Championships finished on Saturday at the Manchester Velodrome and recycling.co.uk's Chris Newton took home two medals. The double World Champion won the Gold Medal in the Points Race on Wednesday and took the Silver Medal in the 20km Scratch Race the following day to add to his impressive career medal haul. Savage End to Tour of Britain in Glasgow

The Tour of Britain finished in Glasgow today after a very eventful stage which recycling.co.uk's team manager John Herety described as savage. He said after the stage; "What a day! The race went from the blocks today, it was a savage start, there were lots of attacks aiming to dislodge the race leader, it settled in the middle but was fast again at the end." Another Epic Day at The Tour of Britain

Recycling.co.uk's young squad completed another tough day in the saddle at the Tour of Britain. Today's fifth stage from Liverpool to Kendal was dominated by high winds which split the field into echelons along the coast towards Southport. recycling.co.uk's Rob Partridge finished 8th today on stage 3 of the Tour of Britain from Worcester to Wolverhampton. Rob, at just 22 years old, is now a veteran of this race riding in his 4th edition in as many years. It was a tough day all round for the recycling.co.uk team as the Tour of Britain raced through Somerset's most demanding roads today. recycling.co.uk lost two riders today. Chris Newton, in 10th place overall at the end of yesterday's stage, had to leave the race after receiving news that his expectant wife was taken to hospital. Adam Bonsor retired through illness. recycling.co.uk's Chris Newton ended today's stage in Southampton in 10th place overall, just 20 seconds off race leader Mark Cavendish (T-Mobile) who won his second stage. Chris slipped down one place from yesterday because two riders moved up into the top-ten. All the remaining recycling.co.uk riders remain within 1 minute and 35 seconds from the race leader.
